Matricaria recutita 250 mg Seed Packet. German Chamomile makes an absolutely stunning border that has valuable medicinal uses as well. For years, German chamomile has been used in teas for a soothing and calming effect. In fact a tea made of it is said to be an excellent anti-fugal agent on other plants! It can be taken as a herbal tea, two teaspoons of dried flower per cup of tea.
German
Chamomile can grow up to 22 inches tall and 12 inches wide, and has
many thin branches of finely divided green leaves. Tiny 3/4 inch white
and sunshine yellow daisy-like flowers appear from early summer to fall.
German Chamomile will grow in many soils, but is most happy in light
sandy soils. Treat just like you would plant most wildflowers and cover
very lightly with fine soil. German chamomile is used medicinally
against sore stomach, irritable bowel syndrome, and as a gentle sleep
aid. It is also used as a mild laxative. For a sore stomach, some
recommend taking a cup every morning without food for two to three
months. It is also used as a mouthwash against oral mucositis. It has
acaricidal properties against certain mites, such as Psoroptes cuniculi.
